Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe is one of the first Albigensian bastides. To encourage peasants to come and settle in his country house, Sicard d'Alaman, knight and lord of Saint-Sulpice, sent his consuls to the countryside to shout that a great lord was building a town, distributing plots of building land and plots of land and ensuring the safety of the inhabitants inside the fortifications. In total, it took four years to build (from 1243 to 1247). Built according to the plan in use in the 13th century, its covered square has disappeared to allow the construction of the church, which was originally built outside the walls.
