At the crossroads of the Toulouse-Albi-Rodez and Castres-Montauban axes, Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe, a 13th century bastide, has always been an important place of passage. The discovery of numerous Roman remains on this Tarn territory attests to the already strategic importance of the town in Gallo-Roman times. As a small town in full expansion, it has managed to preserve its historical past by restoring the ruins of the ancient castle of Castela (13th century) and its adjoining medieval underground. This interesting town offers its old streets, half-timbered houses, its 14th century church and its ecomuseum (old trades and arçonnerie) to the curious on a stroll.
