Saint-Nicolas and Sainte-Foy churches, one listed and the other classified as a historical monument

Arriving from Villeneuve-sur-Lot, the steeple of Saint-Nicolas church is usually the first thing you see of Pujols. The Gothic-style edifice dominates the square of the same name. It was built in the ^16th century on the site of an existing castral chapel. Integrated into the ramparts, its bell tower was built over one of the village gates. The nave, ending in a polygonal apse, has 2 chapels. One was reserved for the lords of Pujols, the other for the dean of the chapter. A crypt was discovered in 1880 beneath the choir.
