Jewel of the City of Albret, the Castle-Museum Henri IV takes up the challenge to make you discover an extraordinary heritage, combining great French History and small local history, within a preserved territory. Former royal residence of the Albret family, the building hosted, among others, the prestigious court of Henri de Navarre, future Henri IV, and his wife Marguerite de Valois, known as Queen Margot. The collections from the 16th to the 19th century allow visitors to discover the spirit of the Court of Navarre and daily life during the Renaissance.

L'extérieur du château est très beau. Ne reste debout qu'un quart du monument d'origine et la visite est plutôt rapide.
Néanmoins c'est amusant pour les enfants car très ludique avec des objets pour se déguiser, cuisiner.....

Extrêmement intéressant, surtout pour rafraîchir son histoire de France. Les tableaux explicatifs sont nombreux et très bien faits. On apprend énormément sur les ancètres d' Henri de Navarre, les intrigues et la vie de l'époque.

Un château que l'on ne peut pas visiter au mois de mai alors qu'il y a déjà de nombreux touristes, c'est inadmissible ! Et oui, il est fermé…

Seuls les groupes pouvaient le visiter… cela paraît incroyable de passer 2 semaines à Nérac sans pouvoir visiter le château ; l'office de tourisme ainsi que le maire de Nérac devraient y remédier
