On the heights of Puy-L'Evêque, Château Gautoul exudes peace and refinement. The building, a 17th-century Carthusian monastery, lends itself to every dream: come and enjoy spacious, comfortable guest rooms, a chef's breakfast concocted with organic produce, and the swimming pool with pool house. The vineyard extends over 19 hectares, facing south, where each bunch of grapes gives the best of itself. The estate is in the process of converting to organic farming, and relies on the leading grape varieties of the Cahors appellation. A visit to the winery is a rare treat.

CHÂTEAU PINERAIE

Winery

Since 1638, the Burc family has been cultivating this ideal terroir. The vineyard extends over 45 hectares lovingly tended; using sustainable cultivation methods, most of the harvest is sorted by hand for these 4 AOC Cahors cuvées: the Château-Pineraie (85% Malbec, 15% Merlot), the Pierre Sèche (85% Malbec, 15% Merlot, not aged in oak barrels), the authentic (100% Malbec, aged for eighteen months in new barrels) and the rosé. The wine blossoms in a splendid cellar where the 5th and 6th generations continue to share their passion with you.

DOMAINE DE LA PAGANIE

Winery

In 1912, Clément Henry's great grandfather planted the first vines. The generations that have succeeded each other at the head of the vineyard have perpetuated the traditions. The 6 ha of vines are composed exclusively of Malbec grapes and benefit from the clay-limestone soil of the first terraces of the Lot. The harvesting of the unweeded vines is done by hand, and the aging in oak barrels. For a real countryside experience, Clément offers rides in a 2CV through the village followed by a wine tasting. The Lot as we like it!
