MANOIR LA BARRIÈRE

Fue una reserva de última hora, y agradezco que nos hospedaran, nos advirtieron que la habitación que les quedaba libre (Compostelana) era pequeña, pero aparte de ser pequeña, era una habitación notablemente discordante con el resto. Cómo recomendación, la habitación Compostelana, debería ser de uso para una sola persona, porque se hizo difícil moverse en ella para dos personas, no tenía armario, ni cómoda donde guardar ropa, con un WC abierto a la cama, solo lo separaba una cortina y tabique abierto y se escuchaba la carretera y los coches.
El sitio en general, piscina, jardín y el edificio histórico muy bien cuidados y bonitos.

Nous avons passé une superbe soirée.
Un accueil chaleureux, de belles chambres dans l'esprit du bâtiment.
Un excellent dîner et petit dejeuner concoctés par nos hôtes.
Tout ça dans un cadre magnifique et calme.

A magnificent building!

We were warmly greeted by Herve and Etienne, and shown to our magnificent room. Beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable. The garden is magnificent.

We enjoyed sitting in the evening sunshine until it was time for dinner, lovingly prepared by Herve. I use the word 'lovingly' because such care had been taken with every aspect of the meal - the presentation and cooking were exemplary.

Both the men were helpful, charming. They take great pride in what they do.

Absolutely recommended. An unforgettable positive experience

The manoir dates back to the 16th century, with other parts of the building added in the 17th and 18th century. Owners Hervè and Etienne will tell you the history of the property, it being a ruin, before a full refurbishment in recent years. Although they have only owned this property for the past 20 months, they have taken great care to look after the manoir and maintain it to a high standard. |Hervè is an excellent chef, with unique ideas when preparing and serving food. The food is very varied, sourced locally and is exceptionally high quality. Each course is well researched to ensure that only the best food is presented - they take great pride in explaining each course and the origin of each dish. Hervè clearly has a passion for food and cooking, a skill he learned from his mother from the age of 13 years. He enjoys preparing food for the enjoyment of guests. |Etienne is so lovely and personable that it was an absolute pleasure for him to serve our food, with his explanation of each course. He also chatted to us generally, and was genuinely interested - a really lovely man.|We booked to eat in the restaurant for the first night only, but the food and service were so good that we also ate on our second night. |Etienne's talents also lie in the gardens. He maintains the existing garden and has also designed new areas, with beautiful planting. The garden has a very clean swimming pool, large nature pond, mature trees and gorgeous flower beds. |There is ample parking within a gated area, accessible by |keypad, and therefore very secure. |The two dogs, Continental Bulldogs, are so friendly, and it is lovely to see them enjoying the gardens too. |Hervè and Etienne are lovely hosts who will do anything to ensure that you have a pleasant holiday. |This hotel is highly recomended for its amenities, exceptional food, great location for sightseeing and for the outstanding services of Hervè and Etienne.
