LES CLAIES DE MAILLOL
Read moreNot far from Gourdon, Les Claies de Maillol is a small estate that produces Vin de Grenier. This wine is made from grapes that have been passerillé off the vine. For the white wine, the grape variety used is the "fleur de mai" (May flower) which is aged in acacia barrels. It has a nice amplitude in the mouth and a nose of white flowers marked by acacia honey. For the red wine, the grape varieties used are Abouriou and Jurançon noir, and the grapes are vinified in a cauldron which gives a powerful robe with aromas of blackcurrant, morello cherry and prune.
