Eight grouped wine producers offer tours and sales of Coteaux de Glanes wines on each farm.
Since 1976, the Coteaux de Glanes PGI vineyard has favored a cooperative approach and the traditional spirit of generations, for a more natural involvement in the quality of the wines. Eight vineyards in the commune of Glanes produce hillside wines - the red Tradition, the rosé Gourmandise (Gamay, Merlot and Malbec), the cuvée Fondateurs, the cuvée Quatre Saisons in oak barrels (100% Merlot), the white Chenin Chardonnay and Les Passereaux (100% Chardonnay). Located in Glanes, this cooperative winery was founded in the late 1960s by seven passionate winegrowers. The Vignerons du Haut-Quercy make it a point of honor to guarantee the exceptional quality of their products, by prioritizing cultivation and respect for the environment. The cooperative perpetuates the local winemaking tradition, combining modern techniques with ancestral know-how to produce exceptional wines that reflect the authenticity and quality of the terroir. You'll find a varied selection of red, rosé and white wines, reflecting the unique characteristics of the Haut-Quercy region. Among the highlights, discover the "Quatre Saisons", an emblematic cuvée that captures the essence of the seasons in every glass. Taste "Gourmandise Chenin-Chardonnay", a delicious blend of Chenin and Chardonnay, for a sweet, fruity experience. And don't miss "Les Passereaux", a cuvée paying homage to local winemaking traditions, for an original and unforgettable taste journey. Chenin-Chardonnay
- Grape varieties: chardonnay 44% chenin 56
- Average yield 58hl/ha
- The total surface area of the PGI is 45ha, including 6.6ha of this cuvée
- Aromas: The minerality of Chenin combined with the fatness of Chardonnay produce a highly aromatic, complex, gourmet wine with a sweet-salty feel in the kitchen. Long on the palate, it's an explosion of exotic and white-fleshed fruit aromas.
- Matching wine and dishes: Chenin Chardonnay goes well with starters and fish. You can also enjoy it with Rocamadour cheese or exotic dishes.It's a wine that stands on its own: enjoy it as an aperitif!
Four Seasons
- Grape varieties: 100% Merlot aged in oak barrels for 12 months
- Average yield of 40 hl/ha
- The total surface area of the PGI is 45 ha, including 3 ha for this cuvée
- Aromas: Bright color with carmine highlights, aromas of vanilla, chocolate and toast, with hints of fruit and undergrowth . On the palate, a supple attack is followed by an increase in power and structure with coated tannins.
- Matching it with food: This fuller-bodied cuvée can be enjoyed with more elaborate, hearty dishes such as omelettes with porcini mushrooms or truffles, Quercy lamb, prime rib, duck breast and cheeses such as Rocamadour or blue-veined cheeses.
- Ageing potential: 8 to 10 years.
Gourmandise
- Grape varieties: Gamay 80% Merlot 5% Cot 15%
- Average yield 60hl/ha
- The total surface area of the PGI is 45ha, including 13ha of this cuvée
- Aromas: Great aromatic complexity, balanced on the palate with aromas of exotic fruits and summer fruits: peach, apricot.
- Food & wine: Always served chilled (8°-10°), Gourmandise goes well with starters and fish. It's the wine of choice for the summer season, around a barbecue. Take it as an aperitif, or prepare a kir with rosé, to enhance its fruit aromas.
- This cuvée is available in 75cl, 37.5cl and 1.5L bottles
