A space offering free events and guided tours during the summer season.

The Espace Patrimoine is located in the Château des Doyens, which dates from the Renaissance and houses a superb 17th century painted ceiling. It is the headquarters of the Pays d'art et d'histoire de la vallée de la Dordogne lotoise and hosts a permanent collection and temporary exhibitions on 4 levels. It proposes free animations all year long and organizes during the summer season guided tours with guides-lecturers approved by the Ministry of Culture, workshops for adults and children, and training courses, on the whole territory of Cauvaldor.

A wonderful example of a beautiful village. It is slightly quieter than some of the others. We got there early morning though. The car park is a few minutes walk away from the village centre and is a pay and display. The village is small but interesting. There is a resident photographer who has his work dotted around the place which helps you to move around the village and also see photos at different times of year. I painted a view of someone viewing the art. The shadows and light are amazing. I can see why he loves the place so much.

Village à visiter obligatoirement si vous passez dans la région.
