LA FEMME DE CYRIL RENOU
Self-sinking steel sculpture weighing over 3 tonnes and standing 3 m high, paying tribute to the 6,000 women working in the Arsenal
In 2020, Cyril Renou, manager of Métallerie du boulevard Renaudet, presented the City of Tarbes with a monumental sculpture in self-patinating steel (its surface rust layer offers high resistance to the elements) to adorn the traffic circle just in front of the company's warehouses. Inspired by a female silhouette, he named it La Femme. Weighing over 3 tonnes and standing 3 metres high, it pays tribute to the 6,000 women who worked at the Tarbes Arsenal and Cartoucherie during the First World War.
