With its numerous and splendid basins of colored water lilies, the site of Latour-Marliac constitutes a true enchantment.
Founded in 1875, this botanical establishment is the historic cradle of water lilies, and has left its mark on horticultural history through the innovative work of its founder, Joseph Bory Latour-Marliac. A museum reveals not only how he invented colored water lilies, but also his life through documents and archives. He was the first to create rustic water lily hybrids in multiple colors. They were much admired by the famous painter Claude Monet. The site features over 250 species. You can also take a break at the "Marliacéa" café and enjoy the breathtaking view.
