This church is one of the few fortified churches in a perfect state of preservation.
Built in the 11th century, the church was donated to the Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem in the 14th century. The latter enlarged and fortified it to protect themselves from Aragonese bandits, then welcomed pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela until the French Revolution. Transformed into a military prison in 1876, the church houses numerous elements dating from the 17th to 19th centuries, including a gilded wooden high altar and a polychrome Pietà. A mural dating from 1670 decorates the chapel.
