Cuisine of the Basque Country in an original restaurant in Lourdes.
On the heights of the city, its elegant façade magnifies the sidewalk, but make no mistake, behind the sober walls, a real trip to the sun awaits you! O Piment Rouge has a strong character, even a little spicy, and when you know it's dedicated to the Basque Country, that's hardly surprising! The team welcomes you in a warm and classy atmosphere, two qualities you'll find in the superbly presented dishes. A fine meal awaits you, as the menu abounds with specialties prepared with talent and fresh produce... and a few peppers. Pork axoa for added flavor and its variant, lamb txilindron, Luzienne-style chipirons and gambas flambéed in cognac are followed this year by specialties from the Bigorre region. Cuisse de canard (duck leg) and demi magret (duck breast). A fine start for this young restaurant, which dares to go off the beaten track and even revisit the famous crème brûlée by adding Espelette pepper, of course. Russian and Basque cakes are just some of the desserts to be enjoyed at this original address, where indulgence is à la carte.
