Fully glazed boat offering a menu of regional specialities and a romantic dinner in the evening.

A cruise along the Canal du Midi on a restaurant boat that will treat you to regional specialties. You embark at lunchtime in front of the Matabiau train station for a few hours of relaxation and gastronomy. The boat is entirely glazed to make the most of the landscape. Head east towards the Saint-Sauveur port. In the evening, a romantic atmosphere for a candlelight dinner around dishes imagined by the chef Nouar Houari. On Saturday and Sunday, different programs and an extended cruise to the Port Sud marina.

A éviter.....passez votre chemin...

I was of half a mind whether to give this 2 or 3 stars, but 2 felt a little mean. We did this trip this evening and while I'd say it was worth doing once, we'll never do it again. The staff are friendly, pleasant and attentive, but it was incredibly slow service. The starter and first carafe of water didn't come out until 9.30pm after we'd been on a hot boat for an hour already. And the main course didn't come out until just after 10.30pm. They served dessert shortly after 11pm as we were heading back into the dock. It's late, even by french standards, and if you have someone in your group that gets hangry, I strongly advise you to give them a late afternoon snack before embarking on this trip so you don't have to put up with the grump that I did lol. It was very hot on the boat and we were luckily sat next to an AC unit, but they opened all the windows when we left the dock which meant that not only was the AC not terribly effective, but we were constantly getting divebombed and bitten by insects drawn to the lights. Our unit seemed to go off around the time our starters were served and we assumed it had been switched off. Turns out it was just malfunctioning and when we were melting in our seats an hour later and begged the waitress to put the AC back on, she restarted it for us with no trouble. The other issue with having the windows open was that the glass is tinted dark and the lights were on inside, so visibility was completely limited because mostly all I could see was the reflection of my beloved in the double pane of dark glass. If I'd been seated the other side of the boat it wouldn't really have been an issue because I might have seen out the front, but unfortunately we were sitting behind a pile of unused tables and chairs. Finally, at some point the captain walked away from the controls and left the boat drifting. Unfortunately, due to the way the breeze was blowing, that meant the exhaust fumes started to fill the cabin.
The starter and main courses were pretty good. We both had the salad occitane followed by the supreme de volaille. The desserts weren't so great. Someone had a really heavy hand on the vanilla so my tiramisu was just overwhelmingly sweet. So I gave them an extra point for the food being mostly tasty.
It should be noted that there is no commentary at all on this trip, except for a brief talk on boat design when you get to Ramonville port and any drinks you have are extra, so it turned out to be a pretty expensive and, in my humble opinion, somewhat over-priced evening out.
