In 1852, a quarryman from Aurignac discovered by chance the entrance to a prehistoric shelter containing the bones of large mammals that are now extinct. The Aurignacian Museum exhibits the treasures thus found, witnesses of the life of Homo sapiens who lived in Europe 35 000 years ago! Get ready for a moving encounter with a long forgotten history. In the coming years, some audiences will expect museums to be more interactive, more doing, fewer passive activities for all ages groups, not just young children sitting patiently listening and watching.
Mention spéciale pour le personnel très sympathique et les petits prix à la boutique (ce qui est très rare !!!) où les enfants pourront se faire plaisir avec leur argent de poche.
Seul point noir à ce lieu (mais le personnel n'y peut rien) : si vous comptez allez voir l'abri, allez-y directement en voiture, par la route et non à pieds... SAUF si vous ne craignez pas les attaques de moustiques sanguinaires !!!???? ????
Ces derniers nous ont gâché la petite balade en sous-bois qui était pourtant fort agréable. ????
Les visites et animations sont superbement menées par Sébastien qui est aussi passionnant que passionné.
En dehors du musée vous pourrez faire plein de balades/rando, notamment celle pour contempler l abri où "tout a commencé".
