Astrada means "destiny" in Occitan. Supported by the mayor of Marciac, Jean-Louis Guilhaumon, and the Jazz in Marciac association, the venue is designed to maintain the cultural momentum generated by the summer festival. Inaugurated in May 2011, this 500-seat venue with its sophisticated acoustics hosts concerts of jazz, classical and contemporary music, French chanson, theater, circus, dance and comedy all year round. It also hosts artists-in-residence and dance workshops.
