A fascinating tourist site where a visit to a beautifully restored building will help you discover the riches of the Garonne River.
Opened in June 2023 by Boé town council, the Maison de Garonne site raises awareness of the river's historical and natural wealth. Housed in a former 14th-century watchtower, the tour begins on the first floor with videos on the Garonne, Michel Serres and the Occitan language. A sound and light room showcases the river. On the 1st floor, the scenography recounts local history, flooding and dredging, and features materials for visitors to touch. The2nd floor explores the river's fauna, flora and legends. A mascot, Jean-Plantou, is on hand.
