A symbol of Larzac and one of the highest sentinels of the Aveyron, the tower of Viala du Pas de Jaux.
It is a symbol of Larzac and one of the highest sentinels of Aveyron. Built in 1429, the tower of Viala-du-Pas-de-Jaux has remarkably survived through the ages thanks to successive restorations. Today, it opens its doors and unfolds its many floors to visitors on the occasion of free or audio-guided visits. In summer, animations for children are proposed. The first floor is also home to a store selling gourmet products.

Le village a été créé au 14ème siècle par les Hospitaliers. La tour sera construite au siècle suivant pour protéger la population et pour stocker les céréales. Haute de 5 étages, le sommet offre une très belle vue sur le causse du Larzac. Les expositions permanentes présentées à chaque niveau sont très intéressantes, en particulier celles sur le blé et le devoir de mémoire du village de 1900 à nos jours, plutôt émouvant.
