The handles are made of olive wood, boxwood, juniper, ebony, thuja, bovine horn and even giraffe bone, mammoth rind or molar, abalone, for the Prestige range. In 2020, his daughter Elodie took up the torch by testing new materials.

Since 2011, Mickaël has been making all his knives, including creations (the Mezenc knife and the Crozillac knife, among others) in a workshop-boutique. The production consists of knives, daggers and wine steins made according to traditional rules, combined with steel, horn, wood and various materials (camel bone!) that make up an attractive palette. The craftsman offers manufacturing courses on reservation: a whole day to shape a knife and leave proudly in the evening with his creation.

Made in the factory according to the cutlery tradition that goes back to 1828, each knife of Forge De Laguiole bears the signature of their cutlers. About a hundred cutlers work daily in the factory to make unique pieces by hand. Founded in 1938, the Glandières cutlery shop is one of the oldest companies in the village to make authentic laguioles. The craftsmen work mainly with horn and several types of wood. Synthetic materials, and very exceptionally, ivory, are also sometimes used. In the Laguiole shop, which has been redesigned, you will find Laguiole knives that close, kitchen knives and table knives. Sheaths, sharpening stones and tools and an engraving service are also available on site.
