This abbey was founded in 1147; built by Cistercian monks, it was until the Revolution one of the richest in the Rouergue. In 1875, the sisters of Maubec and the chocolate factory settled there. The nuns, who would get their secrets of fabrication from a Limoges chocolate maker, work in the old fashioned way. Their chocolate is presented in bars, but also in rocks, malakoffs, cream chocolates... as well as in small bottles with the heart of liqueur, very famous.

Très ressourçant lieu de foi sur les chemins de St Jacques de Compostelle, la spécialité des religieuses : le chocolat ...au thé d Aubrac, aux fleurs de cerisiers, mais par dessus tout : lieu de prières & meditation entre Espalion et Laguiole Aveyron

Lieu spirituel isolé dans la forêt près d'Espalion,où vous pouvez venir faire une retraite et vous reposer dans un calme absolu.Les cisterciennes sont cloîtrées mais vous pouvez les entendre aux différents offices qui rythment leur journée.La sœur hôtelière est très accueillante et les repas sont copieux. L'hôtellerie est neuve.Et bien sûr les chocolats sont excellents !
