CABRIERE CASTLE

An imposing mass above the main road, its location and configuration make it almost a fairy tale castle. Although it is not a fairy tale, in the 19th century it was home to the singer Emma Calvé, who had set up a singing school there. Located on the left bank of the Lumensonesque river, four kilometres from Compeyre, the building dominates the old Millau-Sèverac road. The castle is composed of a rectangular main building dating from the 20th century framed by two square towers and a dungeon that are mainly from the 15th century. It is now a private property.
