Located in the heart of the Vosges mountains, the museum offers a warm welcome and a chance to discover the history of the Vosges textile industry. The industry originated in Alsace in the early 19th century. At that time, Vosges families were self-sufficient, living off the produce from their farms. Opening time and information on TEXTILE MUSEUM OF THE VOSGES
Quality Tourism. Closed January 1, November 1 to December 14 and December 25. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm. Minimum visit 1h. Free for children under 10. Adults: €6. Children (aged 10 to 16): €3.50. Group (10 people): €5 (schoolchildren: €1.50). High school students, students, unemployed, disabled persons: €3.50. Commented tour €30 (maximum 30 people), Commented tours (over 30 people) €25 per tour. Credit cards not accepted. Guided tour (booking required). Store available. Pets allowed.

The Musée du Textile des Vosges is housed in a former weaving mill in Ventron, in the heart of the Vosges mountains. It invites you to discover the fascinating history of the Vosges textile industry. Here, you'll see a magnificent 30 HP steam engine and the boiler room that powered it. A visit here will also help you understand how cotton is transformed into yarn. You'll marvel at the spinning and weaving demonstrations. The museum also features temporary art and theme exhibitions. Interactive workshops offer an immersive and enriching experience, where you can learn different weaving techniques and become a real weaver. In the museum store, you'll find a fine selection of handicrafts and textiles such as tea towels, napkins, tablecloths, handkerchiefs and aprons. DVDs, books and shuttles, which take you even deeper into the world of textiles, are also available. A place to visit to help preserve traditional know-how!
