SAINT-JEAN-NÉPOMUCÈNE FOUNTAIN
The base and rounded shape of this fountain are in classic style
It's not miraculous. Opposite the majestic Prioral Church, you can contemplate St. John Nepomucene, the patron saint of bridges. Vicar-general of Prague and private confessor to the Queen, he was martyred in 1393 before his canonization in the early 18th century. He is shown here carrying a crucifix. While the base (in white stone) and rounded shape of the fountain are classical in style, the statue in pink Vosges sandstone bears witness to a strong local influence.
