Created by Hélène and Justin Schwartz in 1960, this estate is now run by their son Jean-Luc. It has nearly 9 hectares spread over nine communes. This great variety of terroirs is an invaluable asset, particularly well exploited by this winegrower who is anxious to express all the characteristics of each grape variety and each soil as well as possible. Thus, the 250 million year old pink sandstones of the Grand Cru Muenchberg constitute a choice terroir for Riesling, as well as the limestone marls on the Marckrain from which the estate draws its Muscat and Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Marckrain. Other terroirs such as Fruehmess, Kritt, Fronholz and Eichelberg also have strong personalities and give the wines a beautiful minerality. Tranquil or sparkling, the wines of the estate can be tasted on the spot or in the restaurants of the region. Some of the estate's wines chosen from the different ranges on offer: Sylvaner Vieilles Vignes 2016 (ample and dry, beautiful minerality), Riesling Grand Cru Muenchberg 2016 (dry and mineral), Gewurztraminer Kritt 2015 (pretty notes of spices and rose), Pinot Noir Fronholz 2016 (notes of raspberries and blackcurrant) and Crémant d'Alsace Rosé (100% Pinot Noir).

Quelle rencontré.. Jean Luc Schwartz nous a reçu gentiment samedi 4 au matin et nous avons rencontré un personnage passionné et passionnant..Nous avons eu droit a un cours d œnologie et sur les spécificités des différents cépages et terroirs alsaciens , une dégustation magnifiquement commentée.
Nous avons donc passé un moment magnifique , nous sommes donc conquis et dégusterons dorénavant ses vins d Alsace .
Nous vous conseillons vivement de renconter ce passionné..
Nous reviendrons prendre un autre cours à notre prochain passage alsacien.
