Association Ouvrage A5 du Bois du Four in the form of a gigantic monolith (6,000) made of concrete, a must-see!
Entirely scraped during the German occupation, the Ouvrage A5 Bois du Four was a forgotten ruin of the Maginot Line in 1945. Purchased by the town of Villers-la-Montagne in 1990, it has been entrusted to an association that has been passionately restoring it for over 30 years, perpetuating the duty of remembrance. A two-hour immersive visit to discover the subtleties of infantry and fortress artillery, a restored 81 B mortar firing chamber and the daily lives of soldiers. On Museum Night, the Ouvrage can be visited by lantern.
