This museum presents the life's work of Emberménil's parish priest, Abbé Grégoire, during the French Revolution. A supporter of the Third Estate and the Constituent Assembly, he became an emblematic figure in the fight for the abolition of slavery and the emancipation of the Jewish people, and the driving force behind the reorganization of public education, the Natural History Museum and the Jardin des Plantes. A promoter of the French language and universal suffrage, he was one of the greatest humanists of his century! 13 stained glass windows tell his story.
