This castle is one of the most beautiful vestiges of medieval Lorraine thanks to the preservation of five towers in elevation

It is one of the most beautiful vestiges of medieval Lorraine thanks, in particular, to the conservation in elevation of five towers: keep of the 12th century and evolution from the 12th to the 17th century. Hardly hit by an American bombardment in 1944, the building has survived through the ages in many ways: built around 1200, the castle benefits from new fortifications a century later. In the 16th century, a Renaissance-style building emerged within these walls. It must be said that the fortress had suffered in the Thirty Years War. The medieval part will be revisited as a romantic castle in the nineteenth century. Part of the building then becomes a weaving. In 1912, the Château de Blâmont became the property of a chocolate maker, Fernand Burrus, who added two towers. Today, the members of the Clef de Voûte association strive to maintain the site and bring it to life. Guided or themed tours, restoration work sites open to all for a weekend or a whole summer, egg hunts in the ditches of the castle to celebrate Easter, exhibitions on the town and its heritage, permanent and temporary, the activities proposed by the association are as original as they are varied and help to highlight this superb witness and true totem of medieval Lorraine.

Unfortunately it seems that nobody takes care about this old castle.
Grasses are high and the stairways not safe.
After a few minutes you have seen everything.
