THE SCYTHE DAM

Built on the Dorat river, this 16.50 m high and 130 m long dam is remarkable for its multi-arch architecture. This type of construction is very rare: there are only two in Europe. When it was commissioned in 1953, the dam created a 45-hectare stretch of water, producing around 7 million kilowatts. It is also a site for night carp fishing. A total of twelve stations are spread out on the right bank of the reservoir. This no kill fishing is authorized from April^1st to November 30th, it is very regulated (contact the fishing federation).
