ZIZIM TOWER
Tower built in the late century by Pierre d'Aubusson to house Djem, the son of an Ottoman sultan.
The Zizim Tower is distinguished by its unique history. a "golden prison", it was built at the end of the 15th century to house the Ottoman Prince Djem, known as Zizim, son of Emperor Mehmet II. Measuring 33 m high, it has 5 floors, 2 of which were dedicated to the Prince, and boasts rare comforts for the time: fireplaces, latrines, central well... Admire the remarkable oak framework! Climbing the 99 steps of this tower means following in the footsteps of the Prince, but also those of the Resistance fighters locked up here in 1944. A fascinating guided tour!
