LA VALLÉE DES TROIS LACS

A dozen kilometers from Guéret, in the heart of the Creuse region, the Vallée des Trois Lacs unfurls its landscapes like a peaceful watercolor painting, where the water hugs the curves of the hills and reflects the changing skies of the Limousin. This enchanting place takes its name from the three lakes that dot the upper Creuse valley:
Lac des Chézelles (23 ha, 7,000 m of shoreline), nestled between Jouillat and Anzême, is located in the deepest part of the Creuse Valley and is home to a flagship species: the pike-perch. Its banks invite you to contemplate, fish at your leisure, or take a long walk along the river's gentle slopes. In summer, the beach attracts families in search of a refreshing dip, even if swimming is sometimes dependent on nature's vigilance.
A little further on, the Lac de Champsanglard (55 ha, 11,000 m of shoreline) is formed by the Chambon dam. Located furthest upstream on the Creuse, it is the domain of pike and carp and stretches out at the foot of a hillock planted with bocage. It's a paradise for fishermen and lovers of peace and quiet, with its cottages on the edge of the forest.
Finally, Lac de l'Âge (38 ha, 7,000 m of shoreline), at Le Bourg-d'Hem, combines water sports with natural immersion. Positioned downstream, this dam is home to all types of stillwater fish. It has become an ideal spot for spearfishing and match fishing, thanks to the abundance of roach and tench. Its waters are ideal for canoes, pedalos and paddleboats, set against a backdrop of broom and pine trees. A supervised beach in season completes the offer for families.
