THE NIRIGE CHAPEL

The 2007 prize for "Heritage Ribbons" competition was awarded to the municipality of Espagnac for its investment and the quality of the restoration work of the Chapelle chapel. The "Heritage Ribbons" competition, organized since 1995 by the Association des maires de France, Dexia Crédit Local, the French Building Federation and the Heritage Foundation, aims to encourage initiatives by local communities in their efforts to improve the quality of life and safeguard its built heritage. The operation was the restoration of the chapel of Nirige, devastated by the village fire, late 1996 th century, after its owners in donated to the commune. The work that began in 2000 was completed in June 2005 with the active participation of young volunteers.
