Les Pans de Travassac, an impressive and unusual site in Donzenac.

Here is an impressive and unusual site! The pans are spectacular slate veins exploited in the open air since the 17th century. An exploitation which marks the landscape and remains active. The slate of Travassac is famous for its solidity and the beauty of its colors. It covers many major buildings in the Limousin and national historic monuments such as the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel or the church of the Sacred Heart in Rodez. The commented visit is appreciated by adults and children alike. Demonstration of slate cutting by a slate worker.

A site impressive and know-how highlighted. Children and adults appreciated the guided tour and demonstrations by a slater commerce. It was very well but the hours except summer is a little too small... Do not expect to have to book saturdays... A visit to do in family!
