Initially sold in pharmacies, Byrrh was soon exported beyond the borders under the title of "tonic and hygienic wine". This aperitif is elaborated thanks to skilful dosages of various aromatic plants, giving it sweet and bitter flavours, then aged for two to three years in oak tuns, one of which is the largest oak vat in the world: 1,200,000 litres! The cellars can be visited and as soon as the weather is fine, sound and light, dramatised visits and guided tours will tell you the incredible story of the Violet brothers.

Quality Tourism. Qualité Sud de France. Open all year round. April, May, June, September and October - tours daily 9:30-11:30 am and 2:30-5:30 pm. November to March closed on Mondays, visits at 10:45 am, 2:30 pm and 4 pm; nocturnal visits every Friday in July and August, 9:30 pm. Admission: €5.50 for adults, €4.50 for concessions and groups of 10 or more, €2.50 for 12-18 year-olds. Admission to sound and light show €8/adult, €4 for 8-18 year-olds. Other themed tours, workshops and game area, calendar available on website. Tourism & Handicap label.

Visite instructive et sympathique. Découverte d'un autre monde impressionnant et d'un autre temps. Belle mise en valeur de cet ancien site industriel. C'est un incontournable de la région qui vaut le détour. Notre guide a su capté l'attention du groupe et était très à l'écoute des questions. Félicitations.

Large favourite for the theatrical visit. The entertainment by the actors brings a reality more to tour and small dance at the foot of the immense reservoir is not to be missed. The small town is also pleasant, do not hesitate to visit before leaving.

Beautiful place. It is quite impressive this to find at the foot of these large vats in oak barrels. A very pleasant and explained with at the end a tasting.
