On the road leading to the Happy Valley, Mas del Ca is the ideal place to combine relaxation and leisure. At the crossroads of many activities, you can discover yourself: outdoor health trails with wooden modules, fitness area with 5 equipment, archery, shaded picnic area with barbecue, and the start of many hiking trails. Mas del Ca is also the site that hosts the identical replica of the Solar Oven. Padre Himalaya being the nickname of the Portuguese learned Father Manuel Antonio Gomes who built the first solar oven in the world on the heights of Sorède in the summer of 1900. The solar oven can be visited in summer to discover its history and that of Padre Himalaya, but also to experiment on many models.
Continuing towards the Happy Valley, discover the authentic 18th century Catalan Forge. Before the French Revolution, it was the first iron industry in Sorède. Existing since the 16th century, it used the natural resources of the Albères to exploit iron: mine, water and charcoal. It made tools from this iron, such as barrel rings, fittings, nails... The complete restoration is now complete and the site is accessible during guided tours during the summer season.
