The Catalan Country at the International Agricultural Show
From February 22 to March 2, discover the flavours and know-how of the Pyrénées-Orientales in Paris!
19 Catalan producers have joined the adventure led by the Département and the Chamber of Agriculture.
Thanks to the support of partners Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole (Cap Sud 66 - Agence d'attractivité), the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie (CCI), the Chambre des métiers et de l'artisanat (CMA) and the Agence de développement touristique (ADT 66), a large 140 m² stand will be set up in the Occitanie regional area, right in the heart of the Salon international de l'agriculture.
This village of the Catalan region will showcase the diversity of our department's agriculture and the talent of our producers. It will offer tastings of local products, a tourist section to attract visitors and a host of events. A showcase of excellence to raise the profile of our region!
The Bear Festival: A Catalan tradition full of legends and festivities!

Every year in February, the villages of Haut Vallespir celebrate an age-old tradition: the Fête de l'Ours (Bear Festival).
Three Catalan villages, Arles-sur-Tech, Prats-de-Mollo-La-Preste and Saint-Laurent-de-Cerdans, invite you to experience a unique blend of carnival and village fete.
A fascinating legend
The festival has its origins in a legend in which a ferocious bear abducts a young girl, and the villagers organize a hunt to save her. The bear is captured, shaved with an axe and transformed into a human. The festival celebrates the victory of man over beast, with a festive, transgressive atmosphere that plunges the whole valley into an explosion of joy and music.
Three villages, three atmospheres:
arles-sur-Tech: The beating heart of the festival, with its bear parades and traditional dances.
prats-de-Mollo-La-Preste: A place for authentic celebrations, with folk costumes and Catalan music.
saint-Laurent-de-Cerdans: A village full of charm, where festivities blend perfectly with local history.
The Fête de l'Ours is a highlight of the Catalan Carnival, an immersion in the living heritage of the Pyrénées-Orientales, not to be missed!
