La Malène boatmen form cooperative to launch tourism business
At the most spectacular spot of the Tarn gorges, the cliffs narrow and rise up to 500 m high. For centuries, boats were the only ones to serve the valley. Then the creation of the Paris-Béziers railway and the road, the boats were abandoned. In 1940, the boatmen of the Malène grouped together in a cooperative to start tourism. These local children know every meander of the Tarn and all the biodiversity of the banks.

Nous avons fait la balade en bateau avec la batelière Fantine, qui était très sympathique et avec des super commentaires sur les gorges du Tarn. La balade était magnifique et très intéressante, nous recommandons sans hésiter.

Nous avons fait la descente jusqu'au Détroit. Axel, le guide a été le plus pour nous faire découvrir cet endroit et l'écosystème de la région.
