THE AUROCHS OF THE GIRALDES

The Amarger family discovery farm allows us to discover the aurochs, the prehistoric ancestor of our common beef. In fact, this bovine had disappeared. It has been "reconstituted" from rustic cross-breeds and is perfectly at ease on the harsh lands of the Margeride. After a walk to observe the aurochs, we return to the barn. The museum retraces the history of the primitive aurochs in the first part, but also presents many tools and a beautiful evocation of the Margeride. Lodging on the spot.
