Markets Sète

Voted the third most beautiful halles in Occitanie, they are the ambassadors of Sétoise's gastronomic reputation. The old building, dating from the 70s, has been replaced by a beautiful edifice designed by architect François Fontès. Open every morning, it houses 75 enthusiastic traders. Here, you can discover, taste and enjoy local specialities, while chatting with producers proud to share their treasures. Butchers, bakers, cheesemongers, fishmongers, market gardeners, wine merchants, caterers: it's all there for you to enjoy.

Wednesday is market day on the Île singulière. You can come on foot, by bike or by boat-bus to fill your basket with fresh produce, buy flowers or find a new outfit. Along Alsace-Lorraine and Gambetta streets, it's the food market to stock up on fruits and vegetables. On the Place Léon Blum, in front of the town hall, you can stroll between the plant and flower stands. On the side of the rue Savonnerie and on the quay of Algiers, you can find clothes, jewels and objects. A whole program!

Going to the market is a little program in itself. To shop for fresh produce on weekends, you can count on the Friday market held in the station area. Under the trees of the avenue Victor Hugo which bring their shade in the summer season, one comes to select its fresh fruits and vegetables. You can also take advantage of the market to do some shopping because several stallholders offer textile articles. You can then leave with your basket full of fresh products and new clothes to brighten up your wardrobe.

On Thursdays, it is on the side of the Corniche that we meet to fill our basket with fresh products. Throughout the year, about twenty local producers and artisans set up shop on the Place Édouard Herriot to offer their beautiful products in the colors of the land. The stalls feature organic farming, including seasonal fruits and vegetables, but also poultry, eggs ... A market to consume local, shop outside the historic center, and why not continue with a walk to the beach.
