Church built on the site of a small Romanesque church and a Gothic church.

Dating from the 17th century, this church was built on the site of a small 11th-century Romanesque church and a 13th-century Gothic church. One of the jewels in the church's crown is the high altar, featuring a beautiful variety of marbles. It came to Marseillan from Valmagne Abbey during the French Revolution. Recently restored, it is now a listed historic monument. In 1998, the stained glass windows were refurbished by an Italian master glassworker.

Eglise Saint-Jean-Baptiste 34340 Marseillan
L'Eglise Saint-Jean-Baptiste est située à Marseillan-Ville. J'ai trouvé plutôt curieux son clocher carré qui se trouve en dehors de l'église. Mais l'intérieur mérite la visite : j'ai tout particulièrement apprécié les magnifiques vitraux et tableaux.

L' église Saint Jean-Baptiste est situé au coeur de Marseillan Ville proche de la halle couverte.
Bien qu'elle ne soit pas classée parmi les monuments historiques, elle présente une certaine particularité: celle d'avoir un clocher qui se trouve en dehors de l'édifice.
Les vitraux sont très intéressants.
A voir si vous passez dans le secteur.
