The church of Villeneuve, the first church of Villeneuve, the place charged with history bearing the memory of the commune, was rehabilitated in summer 2010 after twenty months of work. A feat: The architecture of the building was preserved… and the renovation was carried out using ecological materials. A media library of 350 m 2 was created. We go as much to see it as to take advantage of its books and its documentary fund; but attention here is above all a place of reading and work. The spaces are distributed in a functional and user friendly manner. From the entrance is the welcome space. in the former "small entry" chapel is installed the librarians'office; in the so-called "guardian angel" is the workspace and multimedia space (two computer stations allow the visualization of available funds); in the old Saint Joseph Chapel, youth space (6 to 10 years); in former chapels "Sainte-Anne", "Notre Dame de Rosary" and "Saint-Nicolas", adult space. In the centre of the building, the consultation area, composed of chauffeuses, welcomes the adult readers while the choir, a more serene space composed of carpets and cushions, is dedicated to early childhood. A total of 15 000 books for adults and children are proposed (novels, books, periodicals, documentaries, large print books for the visually impaired) as well as CD and DVD.
