Abyss discovered in 1888 by Edouard-Alfred Martel, father of speleology, offering a superb waterfall in Saint-Sauveur-Camprieu.
Édouard-Alfred Martel, the father of speleology, discovered this abyss in 1888. We follow in his footsteps on a 2.5 km trail, including 1 km in a cave, part of an 11 km network. Starting in the undergrowth of the Aigoual massif, the trail follows a crescendo of descent through the vegetation, leading to the underground river, the Bonheur, and its resurgence, which gushes out through a narrow, spectacular 70 m-high fissure and cascades its waters. The site is said to have been the object of ancient cults. The highlight of the visit before leaving: dinosaur footprints.

Nous avons visité après de fortes pluies, le débit était donc important, c'était impressionnant !
Bravo à notre guide, François, qui a du coffre pour se faire entendre dans la grotte et qui propose une visite très animée et riche.
Il connaît très bien son sujet !
