SCRIBE'S MUSEUM
Museum located in the heart of the village of Saint-Christol, housing authentic items including written materials through the ages
In the heart of the village, 400 metres from the obelisk - symbolizing the road to Montpellier and the sea to the south and the road to Alès and the Cevennes to the north - it is part of the old outbuildings of the th century central castle that has been renovated to create this museum of writing. Inside, three beautiful vaulted rooms welcome you at the entrance of this documentary art museum. Authentic pieces can be seen, whether they are written materials through the ages or writing instruments used for 5 000 years (including a collection of more than 5 000 feathers!). A French-English audio guide allows you to visit the seven rooms, a unique opportunity to discover the documentary and calligraphy art. Several workshops and workshops around the writing are also proposed throughout the year.
