NOGARET CASTLE
Nestled 3 km from the vineyard of Vignelongue, on the old road linking Saint-André to Pompidou, the castle still belongs to the lineage of the counts of Nogaret. Built in the eleventh century, it was burned in 1628 during the war of the Duke of Rohan, and in 1706 at the time of the war of the Camisards. The building is flanked by two towers which were arasted under the order of Richelieu and decorated with a flat and oval roof at one slope. It does not visit, but the walk is pleasant and the castle from outside is interesting to observe.
