TOUR MAGNE
The only surviving tower among the 80 towers of the ancient city, it is the city's highest vantage point.
The only surviving example of the ancient city wall and its 80 towers, the Tour Magne is the only one still standing. Perched on Mount Cavalier, it dominates the plain and is the city's highest point. Standing 32 metres high, it signalled the presence of the city and was a strategic point for monitoring the Via Domitia, the Alpilles and Mont Ventoux. Once you've climbed the hundred or so steps to the top, you'll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city from the terrace. An exhibition at reception explains the history of the tower.
