The only tower still standing among the 80 towers of the ancient city, and imposing itself as the highest viewpoint of the city.
The Magne Tower is the only one of the 80 towers of the ancient city walls still standing. Perched on Mount Cavalier, it dominates the plain and is the highest point in the city. 32.50 meters high, it was a strategic point to watch over the Via Domitia, the Alpilles, the Mont Ventoux, and the Vistre plain. After having climbed the hundred or so steps that lead to the top, you will discover from the terrace a striking panorama of Nîmes and its surroundings. At the reception, an exhibition presents the history of the tower.

Superbe vue
Après une montée assez éprouvante, il faut s'acquitter du prix du billet pour pouvoir monter en haut de la tour et ainsi bénéficier d'une vue époustouflante sur toute la ville. Vaut le détour.

Magnifique vue sur Nimes
Un immanquable sur Nîmes pour contempler la ville de là-haut. L'entrée est payante mais un pass à tarif réduit est disponible pour faire plusieurs monuments (dont les arènes et la Maison Carré notamment). Cela vous donne en tout cas accès à cette tour avec ses quelques marches à gravir.

Cette belle vue se mérite par l'ascension de la colline. Heureusement le parc est très joli et facilite ainsi la montée.

La Tour Magne est assez éloignée du centre historique. Elle se situe dans un très joli parc. Pour la visiter, il faut marcher, monter, monter et encore monter ! Une fois arrivé devant la Tour, il faut une nouvelle fois monter, cette fois il s'agit d'escaliers en colimaçon ! Vous l'avez compris, cette visite est assez sportive ! La vue qui vous attend vaut quand même le coup de souffrir un peu :)

très beau site
vue imprenable sur Nîmes et le passage par les jardins est tout simplement extraordinaire, seul bémol peut-être, pas de toilettes en arrivant à la tour, il faudrait y penser pour les personnes qui ont des problèmes de santé
