This feudal castle was built on a promontory overlooking the valley of the Cèze
The first traces of this feudal castle, built on a promontory overlooking the Cèze valley, date back to 1121. Active restoration over the past ten years by a dynamic conservation association has opened the site to the public. You'll take a pleasantly uphill botanical trail, after which a guide from the association will tell you all about the history of the Lords of Montalet and the stages in the castle's restoration. The medieval festival takes place at the beginning of June.
