Remarkable value for money for this restaurant, which is often fully booked at the peak times of weekday lunchtimes. The menu is diversified, with 4 choices of starters and main courses, and the plates are generous enough to make it hard to finish them, but we keep coming back for more, because the dishes are so tasty. You enter through the bar-tabac, which plunges you into the friendly atmosphere of a brasserie, with the added bonus of culinary refinement. Service is attentive, almost friendly, and you immediately feel comfortable. Between Alès and Portes, a must-stop on the way to the Cévennes.
