ST. PAUL'S CHURCH
A visit to a church in the heart of the city, at the end of a small cul-de-sac perpendicular to the town hall
Eglise Saint-Paul was listed as a Monument Historique in 2005. Hidden at the end of a small cul-de-sac perpendicular to Rue de l'Hôtel-de-Ville, almost completely surrounded by 17th-century houses, it's well worth a visit. A remnant of the former Couvent des Cordeliers, it was built between 1355 and 1362, with the choir added in the following century. Designed on the basis of an equilateral triangle, the church was initially simple, but decorations were added over the centuries. It is a fine example of Provençal Gothic architecture.
