Museum with archaeological collections from the Palaeolithic period, collections of paintings from the French and foreign schools from the century
Located at the top of the Parc du Colombier, in the center of town, the museum is housed in a charming 18th-century château. Archaeological collections from the Palaeolithic era stand alongside 16th-century paintings from French and foreign schools. The Montaion Stele, dating from the Neolithic period, stands alongside a triptych of the Holy Trinity by Jean Bellegambe. But the museum is also renewing itself by offering multi-sensory devices to allow visitors to become one with the works through their senses: sound, smell and taste, texture and sight of course.
