In the 8,000 hectares surrounding Aigues-Mortes, the salt flats offer a magical landscape where flamingos, herons and 200 species of birds share the limelight. A small train takes you through the salt tables to learn all about the secrets of salt crystallization, even offering a stop to climb to the top of a salt camelle. You may prefer to explore the salt pans by mountain bike, bicycle or on foot, on your own or with a guide. For a complete immersion experience, you can spend the night in one of the huts, farmhouses or houses.

Très déçu, quand on arrive, les réservations passent en priorité sur les gens qui arrivent pour visiter qui ont pas réservé, obligé de repartir, parce que les trains étaient pleins donc très déçu ! Il n’est pas normal qu’un train soit pas réservé pour les gens qui viennent sur place

Guide intarissable qui nous transmet sa passion. Échanges possibles lors des arrêts.

The price for the walking tour is 9,40 euro per person whatever the age. There are only a few explanations in French, very redondant, no bench, no toilet during the tour and a lot of advertising. Staff is absolutely rude, they laugh at you if you cannot operate the gate where you have to scan your ticket. It's probably better to pay for the train tour but beware you have to book 3 days in advance.

Prix pour une visite en autonomie excessif (9,40€). La visite de 12km devrait être déconseillé les jours de forte chaleur... ce n'est absolument pas signalé à l'accueil c'est bien dommage puisqu'il n'y a aucun coin d'ombre sur le trajets, aucun endroit pour se rafraîchir (cela est du bon sens, en tant que visiteur nous ne connaissaons pas le site donc nous ne connaissons pas les risques). Rien n'est vraiment expliqué sur le parcours là aussi c'est bien dommage... et les étangs ne sont pas tous remplis même en juin, là aussi c'est dommage qu'il n y ait pas ce genre d'informations à l'accueil... de plus il faut scanner le plan du site obligatoirement et il n y a pas d'alternative pour ceux qui n'en ont pas la possibilité !
Seule point positif : de jolie paysage et quelques flamands roses
