Gothic church, the oldest monument of the city located in Aigues-mortes
Named after the swamps that surrounded the town, this Gothic church is the town's oldest monument (13th century). The last witness to the embarkation of Saint Louis for the Crusades, it was ransacked several times and became a church again in 1804. Listed as a historical monument since 1991, the altar is also classified. Claude Viallat, a well-known local artist, installed 31 luminous stained-glass windows in collaboration with Bernard Dhonneur, master glassmaker.
